Intro to Flash

Hello Students,

This week we introduce the amazing program, Flash CS5 by Adobe. If you have a basic understanding of the WWW, HTML and buiding web pages, you can add incredible animation, games, sound and interactive buttons to your websites. Flash even has its own programming language but doesn't require any programming skills and is easy to learn.

Flash uses vector graphics, which means that your vector drawings can be scaled to any size without losing quality. Flash loads faster than larger animated images or video and allows interactivity.

We will use the tutorials from wsschools, each tutorial shows a sample of the end result and step by step instructions. We will work through a few together and then you will complete the rest.

Start here and read each page and complete each tutorial:
http://www.w3schools.com/flash/flash_intro.asp

TIP: If you prefer you can create artwork in Illustrator and import it into Flash. This only works because
they both create vector graphics.

Using Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign Together: Original Magazine Cover Design

Hello Students,

Your new assignment is a combination of Photoshop and Indesign. Find a high resolution image and process the photo with filters in photoshop and use it to design an original magazine cover with Indesign. You will create additional artistic elements with Illustrator as well. This project is a good lesson in utilizing multiple software tools.

Find a high resolution photo, or take a photo with your own camera. Crop the photo to 8.5X11 inches and process it with the series of filters and layer effects in this tutorial:
